How to choose this product

coronary-stent

A coronary stent is inserted during coronary angioplasty to correct arterial stenosis. The two broad categories are bare and drug-eluting stents. Bioresorbable versions are gradually absorbed by the body or dissolve, restoring the original vasomotor characteristics of the vessel.

Applications

These devices are used to dilate a narrowed coronary artery. Most are put in place with a balloon catheter inserted through the femoral or radial artery.

Technologies

The mesh is typically cobalt-chrome, stainless steel, PLLA or another material. Drug-eluting stents are coated with a substance which releases an antiproliferative drug designed to reduce the risk of restenosis.
