Description

This system is designed for the analysis of complex oxidised hydrolysates such as those obtained from food and feedstuffs. Suitable for: Animal feedstuff, pet food, and the human food industry. Uses of the system : Indication of origin and type of protein source. Quality of meat. Indication of spoilage e.g. analysis of amine in fish products. Indication of microbial contamination. Research of optimum diet formulation and nutritional value. Identification of unwanted supplements. Proof of quality and nutritional value of final product. Nutritional labelling. Monitoring product throughout the production process. The food industry is highly competitive. It is therefore essential to producers that they can monitor quality throughout the product process. Waste or spillage needs to be minimised both at the raw material stage and the final stage. Dieticians need to know the nutritional value of food and amino acid analysis is essential for ensuring nutritional quality. It is the most direct and precise measurement of total protein in food and is a valuable consumer sales aid. The complex matrix of the products puts high demands on the analysis method e.g. high salt concentration. Buffer systems and columns used in the Bio30+ systems can tolerate those high concentrations. Limiting amino acids such as lysine, threonine, cystine and methionine may be rapidly identified to enable adjustments to the formulation of feedstuffs. This system meets the requirements of the standard methods from AOAC and the EU Commission Directive 98/64/EC.
