The guide catheter is curved to facilitate insertion. The guide catheter has a rounded bulb tip to ease passage through the cervix. This device is used during in vitro fertilization procedures to transfer embryos into the uterus. Its bulb tip causes minimal tissue injury when being inserted through the cervix.
