Description

Isn’t it time that you put your plantar fasciitis to bed? The Body Armor® Dorsal Night Splint is the only night splint that actively engages the windlass mechanism to provide a specific, sustained stretch to the plantar fascia. Windlass Mechanics: the key to plantar fasciitis relief. In 1954, J.H. Hicks described the foot and its ligaments as an arch-like triangle, or truss, formed by the calcaneus, midtarsal joint, and metatarsals. Dorsiflexion of the hallux winds the plantar fascia around the head of the metatarsal causing an effective stretch of the plantar fascia and a sustained low load stretch to the flexor tendons, Achilles tendon, and calf muscles. A night splint that works with the foot — not against it. Our patented Hallux Sling™ gently dorsiflexes the great toe to stretch the plantar fascia. Since dorsiflexion of the hallux leverages the natural biomechanics of the foot to engage the windlass mechanism, the foot and ankle automatically move to a 90° position. This way the “lever effect” caused by other dorsal night splints, and the corresponding pressure on the apex of the ankle is eliminated. Better design and better fit for better compliance. The Body Armor® Dorsal Night Splint has a sleek, light-weight design that is cooler and far more comfortable than traditional posterior splints. That means higher compliance from the patient and more effective treatment of the symptoms — a win/win situation for both practitioner and patient. Item sold as one (1) night splint. Fits right or left foot. Universal sizing.
