Description

Stainless steel downflow booth The Felcon Air Shower (also known as "personnel air shower", "product air shower" or "cleanroom air shower") is used as means of removing particulate and/or contamination from the person/product when moving from one room or laboratory to another room or laboratory (usually rooms of cascading pressure differentials e.g. cleanrooms). The Felcon Air Shower is self-contained with high velocity and highly filtered air blow jets (HEPA filtered) which bathe the user/product when transferring through it. The internal filter system also polishes the air. Interlocked doors at each end, which stop both being opened at the same time also reduce surrounding environmental contamination. Applications would include moving from a lesser grade cleanroom to a higher grade cleanroom, thus affording protection to the higher grade cleanroom. It could also be used when moving from a laboratory which may impart contamination to the person/product (during the working day) thus affording protection to the facility surrounding laboratory. It could also be used between rooms/laboratories to reduce cross contamination. Depending upon the requirement, the on board intelligent controller allows blow when moving in either or both directions with adjustable blow time periods. The Felcon Air Shower is most often manufactured in stainless steel, powder coated mild steel or high grade thermoplastics. Specific requirements may also mean the need for Atex electrics, cooled air down to 5 to 10deg C and "safe change" or BIBO HEPA filter changing.
