The MediTouch 3DTutor physical therapy product has been developed to allow for functional rehabilitation of the upper and lower extremities. The system consists of a wearable wireless motion feedback device and dedicated physical therapy rehabilitation software. Quantitative bio-mechanical data allow for objective evaluation and physical therapy treatment follow up. The 3DTutor physical therapy concept is based on performing controlled exercise rehabilitation. 3DTutor provides physical therapy rehabilitation at a patient customized level with real time accurate feedback on the patient’s performance. The physical therapy exercises are designed in the form of challenging games that are suitable for a wide variety of neurological and orthopedic injury and disease. The physical therapy exercises challenge the patient to perform the exercise task to their best ability and to continue exercise practice while the 3DTutor monitors and reports improvement. The 3DTutor allows for rehabilitation treatment and follow up of the head, trunk, upper (shoulder, arm, elbow and hand) and lower extremity (leg, hip, knee and ankle). The system provides detailed exercise instructions and precise feedback on the patients exercise performance and improvement. Controlled exercise within the normal functional movement pattern prevents the development of undesired and compensatory joint movement and ensures better performance of functional tasks.
