The cuboids are of different sizes in the pelvic, shoulder, heel and head areas, and can move in three different directions in each of these areas. Each of the 324 movable cuboids on each side is covered with a visco-elastic lining. This slow foam reacts to pressure and warmth and optimises the adaptation to the body. This results in full-surface body support. The pressure is distributed across the body. Pressure areas are avoided. The patient experiences a pleasant release. An abrupt descent (drop) of the pelvic area is avoided through the use of larger cuboids. In the shoulder area, a shoulder depression is achieved by using smaller cuboids. The direction of the cuts guarantees a smooth surface when laying flat. The patient is able to lie comfortably in every position due to a flexible mattress adjustment feature of up to 80°.
