Hardness tester PTB 302

The PTB 300, a predecessor of the current PTB 302, was the very first electronical tablet hardness testing instrument. While this makes the PTB 302 the oldest member of the Pharma Test hardness testing team, the PTB 302 is still a very popular instrument. The PTB 302 is manufactured and supplied with an inox housing and built-in thermo-printer and is therefore ideally suited to a production environment. It is designed in compliace to the USP and EP monographs. The throughput is approximately 6 to 10 samples per minute. The standard PTB 302 instrument has a load cell for hardness test of up to 300N (Newton), but this can be upgraded to allow a maximum of 500N. The results can be displayed in N, Sc (Strong-Cobb) or Kp (Kilopond). The instrument features furthermore linear force increase mode selection and a RS232 interface. No change of the test jaws is required, the design is made to suit all sizes and shapes, thus greatly enhancing the troughput and user convenience. The PTB 302 can also be supplied modified to test larger tablet sizes of up to 70mm.
