The Agilent Reciprocating Holder Apparatus 7 is ideal for automatic dissolution testing of dosage forms requiring a change of media, smaller volume or more vigorous agitation. Typical products tested include extended release tablets, capsules, transdermals, osmotic pumps and arterial stents.

The standard apparatus has seven reciprocating positions for each of the six rows with 100 or 300 mL outer tubes. The holder has a stroke length of 20 mm and agitates at 5 to 40 dips per minute. Following a designated time period, the dosage form is transported from one row to the next, and can be programmed to move to a fresh row of media, up to six media changes. For an increased number of media changes or smaller volumes, a 12-position, 12-row configuration with 50 mL vessels and an operational minimum of ~25 mL is available.
