Product overview
The bipolar applicator for radiofrequency (TECAR) therapy is designed for use in bipolar mode on the TECARIS+ device. It integrates two resistive (active) electrodes and two passive electrodes within a single four-prong tip, eliminating the need for an external circuit-closing electrode.

Functionality
Current flows locally between the active and passive electrodes inside the applicator tip. Because the tip contains both active and passive electrodes, no separate patient-mounted passive electrode is required to close the circuit. This configuration concentrates current flow near the surface tissues.

Applications
Bipolar mode is intended for surface tissue treatments such as scar therapy and female-pattern lipodystrophy. The small spacing between active and passive electrodes directs energy to superficial layers independently of operating frequency.
