Built-in ECG and PPG Sensors
ASUS VivoWatch 5 AERO integrates micro-electrical ECG sensors and optical PPG sensors. Users select the function on the device and place a finger on the face sensor to obtain real-time PTT and SpO2 readings. The device records heart rate at rest, during exercise and in sleep, and provides a de-stress level assessment.

Pulse Transit Time (PTT)
PTT is derived from the time difference between ECG and PPG waveforms to estimate arterial pulse transit and vascular condition. The device performs automatic hourly PTT measures and supports manual real-time PTT tests.

Taking an ECG
For an ECG recording, place the forefinger on the face sensor for approximately 30 seconds. Recordings are saved in the ECG app and can be exported via the ASUS HealthConnect app (PDF) for clinical review. The device provides Lead I ECG traces and holds medical-device certification from the Taiwan FDA (TFDA); regional availability of ECG features may vary.
