OverviewPremisut BONE WAX is a sterile bone wax composed of white beeswax, hard paraffin and isopropyl palmitate (wax‑softening agent). It is opaque with a waxy odor. Premisut BONE WAX is intended for control of bleeding from bone surfaces by achieving local haemostasis through mechanical tamponade. It does not act biochemically and is minimally resorbable.
Indications- Control of bleeding from bone surfaces (local haemostasis)
- Typical surgical applications: orthopaedic, neurosurgical, cranio‑maxillofacial and thoracic procedures
Mechanism of action- Provides a mechanical tamponade at bleeding bone sites
- Does not rely on biochemical coagulation pathways; minimally resorbable
Composition / technical specifications- Composition: White Bees wax; Hard Paraffin; Isopropyl Palmitate (wax‑softening agent)
- Appearance: opaque; waxy odor
- Sterility: sterile product
Instructions for use- Use under aseptic conditions
- Soften between gloved fingers or with a sterile instrument and apply directly to the bleeding bone surface
- Mould to fill defects and achieve tamponade; remove any excess material
- Do not inject; follow local surgical protocols for haemostasis and wound management
NotesThe technical characteristics may slightly vary or be adjusted depending on the needs of each market (e.g. coating, tensile strength, needle composition, packaging etc).
