Axiostat is a sterile, haemostatic dressing intended to stop bleeding within minutes of application by providing an active mechanical barrier to the injured site.
Axiostat for emergency bleeding control can control moderate to severe bleeding resulting from traumatic injuries like accidents. It is sterile, ready-to-use, and can be cut according to the size of the wound. It is easy to apply and can be used to control a pool of blood.
Patients who have undergone haemodialysis go through a great deal of additional discomfort because of the time taken for the formation of clot on the access point post dialysis. Axiostat for haemodialysis promotes the natural clotting process, especially on patients who are on multiple anticoagulants.
Axiostat® Oral Hemostatic Dressing is an oral wound dressing intended as a physical barrier to control bleeding for temporary protection of oral mucosal tissue and to provide pain relief.
Axiostat works on the principle of adhesion due to charge. Axiostat, powered by Protonated Bioadhesive Technology (PBT) is developed, inducing positive charge in it. When Axiostat is applied to the bleeding site, the positive charges it carries attract the negative charges of the blood cells and form bonds. As a result a strong adhesive seal is formed that serves as a mechanical barrier, putting a stop to blood leakage.
