General descriptionThe Decontamination Lock is a validated pass-through unit for low-temperature decontamination of heat-sensitive equipment, such as electronic devices, prior to introduction into controlled areas. Available in single-door or double-door pass-through configurations and offered with full-glass doors or stainless-steel doors with glass window. Access doors feature integral inflatable gaskets to ensure chamber tightness during SPF barrier operation and decontamination cycles.
Decontamination process and sterilantsThe unit supports vaporized hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) distribution by vaporization/condensation to achieve homogeneous diffusion, including hidden interstices, through micro-condensation on load surfaces. The system can be fitted with an onboard H2O2 vapor generator or connected to compatible external generators. As an alternative sterilant, connection to chlorine dioxide generators is supported. Low-temperature cycles can achieve Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) values down to 10^-6.
Control and automationProcess control is handled by an industrial PLC with a color touch-screen HMI. Features include process monitoring and recording, USB port, e-meter for utilities, load cell for H2O2 bottles, and tablet/connectivity readiness for remote access and diagnostics.
D-PRO — onboard H2O2 generator optionD-PRO is an integrated H2O2 dosing and vapor-generation system designed to share the unit automation. Liquid H2O2 is vaporized thermally and introduced into the chamber after mixing with filtered air. Loading cell for H2O2 container and accessible refilling position are provided.
Aeration and safetyAfter biodecontamination, a rapid aeration phase injects fresh filtered air to reduce H2O2 concentration below the permitted set point. HEPA filtration (H14 ≥ 99.995% MPPS) is used. Two high-speed aeration options are available:
- Aeration via centralized HVAC system (standard)
- In-line catalyzer to neutralize the sterilant (optional)
Sterilant is reduced to safe levels (<1 ppm) before door gaskets are released and the unloading door may be opened.
