The Coriolis Compact is a dry Cyclonic air sampler able to operate up to 8 hours straight and compatible with multiple downstream analysis (NGS, qPCR, Culture).
Developed by Bertin’s engineers, the Coriolis Compact is the new equipment of the Coriolis’ air sampling range. This versatile dry cyclonic air sampler can work in indoors and outdoors environments. Its battery autonomy allows continuous sampling up to 8 hours.
Due to its weight and size, it can be easily transported and positioned in strategical places were sampling must be achieved.
The dry cyclonic technology aspirates the particles with an airflow of 50L/m and makes them travel through the collection cone where they are retained. The collected particles or microorganisms can then be recovered by rinsing consumable with appropriate buffer solution (selected by the user), so the sample is compatible with multiple downstream analysis (NGS, qPCR, Culture). The Coriolis Compact collects particles from 500 nm to 10µm.
Virus collection & detection
One of the main challenges of virus monitoring in the air is obtaining adequately concentrated samples. With its dry sampling technology, the Coriolis Compact is a perfect instrument to detect viruses in the air. Indeed, after each collection, users can choose the volume of solution in which they wish to resuspend their sample. Additionally, solutions that can preserve the nucleic acids present in the sample can also be taken advantage of. For example, in the case of RNA viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, users have the option to immediately resuspend their sample in Trizol to protect RNA against degradation.
