Description

Definition
A plant growth system combining a refrigerated incubator (KB PRO) and a retrofit BINDER LED plant light module to reproduce defined climate and lighting conditions for isolated, reproducible plant experiments.

Structure and function
The base units are climate chambers of the KBF and KBF PRO series (temperature and humidity control) and the KB PRO refrigerated incubators. The BINDER LED plant light module is retrofittable: the control unit mounts externally at prepared fixing points and the LED strips clip to the internal racks. Power and fresh-air lines are routed through the access port and sealed.

Selection criteria / important information
  • Humidity control: Choose KBF or KBF PRO as the base unit if humidity regulation is required. Typical operating ranges with the BINDER LED module: 10°C–50°C and 10%–50% RH (KBF) or 10%–90% RH (KBF PRO).
  • CO2 control: The LED module includes a pump that introduces ambient air to maintain atmospheric CO2 (~0.04 vol.%). For elevated CO2, add the optional CO2 gassing module (0.05%–1.0% vol.).
  • Light quality: The module comprises up to 16 individually positionable LED strips with three independent channels (cold white, warm white, deep red). Combined channels approximate the solar spectrum; deep red targets phytochrome responses. Maximum PAR is reached when all 16 strips are installed.
  • Installation: The control unit is fixed externally with supplied rails and screws; LED strips clip under standard racks with metal clamps (tool-free) and are repositionable. Cables and fresh-air hose pass through the oval access port and are sealed with silicone foam plugs.


BINDER LED plant light module — features and scope
The system consists of up to 16 individually positionable LED strips. Each strip contains three color channels (warm white, cold white, deep red) controllable separately. Channels can be switched, dimmed and programmed in real time. The system offers a twilight function and a fresh-air function. In full configuration, irradiance (PAR) can reach solar levels.
