Description

Slow memory polyurethane foam mattress containing a stiffened edge in high density polyurethane foam. It acts to relieve pressure on all the contact surface. This aim is achieved due to the intrinsic characteristics of the viscoelastic foam, provided with a slow memory (capacity of the material to adapt to a shape after having been deformed). This slow memory allow the adaptation to any body contour, maximising the support surface on the support, with a consequent reduction in contact pressure. The longer this characteristic lasts the more effective the pressure reduction on the skin is. The edge of the mattress makes it easier to move the patient from bed to a wheelchair. The device can be covered with a hypoallergenic polyurethane cover, impermeable to liquids and permeable to air, or a bielastic cover in polyurethane/polyamide which also reduces friction and rubbing between the skin and mattress.
