PresentationModification of the classic Elevated Plus Maze, the BIOSEB Zero-Maze is a laboratory apparatus for the evaluation of anxiety-like behaviour in rodents. It provides an alternative layout to the elevated plus maze by removing the central platform, reducing ambiguous positional classification during behavioural scoring.
Operating principleWith no central area, the subject is always located in either a closed arm or an open arm. This design simplifies interpretation of time spent and entries per area and reduces ambiguous allocation of behaviours when quantifying anxiety-related endpoints.
