Description

THERMOCOOL® Bi-directional Catheter is a steerable, multiple electrode catheter with a deflectable tip to facilitate electrophysiological mapping of the heart and to transmit RF (radiofrequency) current to the catheter tip electrode for ablation purposes. Features: High-torque polyurethane shaft with a deflectable tip section that includes an array of platinum electrodes All electrode may be used for recording and stimulation, but only the tip electrode may be used to deliver RF energy from the generator Available with either a thermocouple or thermistor temperature sensor ThermoCool Navigation Catheters are the only catheters with approval from AF*, VT†, and Flutter. The open irrigation helps to minimize the tissue surface and ablation temperature, improving power efficiency and reduced char formation thus taking over the limitations of no irrigated ablation. The Thermocool Catheters take the complete line of irrigated catheters to a new level of safety and control. The device provides control and safety for successful ablations, minimizes char formation and thrombus, increases anatomical access and provides with precise resolution. The type I atrial flutter is used for 18 years or older patients. With a combination of Carto Systems provides Drug refractory recurrent symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. In adults the prior myocardial infarction provides recurrent drug/device refractory sustained monomorphic ventricular tachycardia
