Herbst Cradle™ is a patented orthosis designed to manage plantar-flexion contractures and to provide pressure‑free positioning for prevention or treatment of decubital (pressure) ulcers on the heel and malleoli. Constructed from soft ripstop nylon, the device soothes compromised skin. Strategically placed anti‑bacterial filling forms a soft cradle while a pocket of beads in the centerwall of the leg portion promotes blood circulation. A plastic posterior and plantar brace maintains the foot at a 90° angle during bed rest. The adjustable anti‑rotation bar prevents lower‑extremity rotation and is configurable for right or left foot. Hook & loop closures enable secure and rapid application. Extremely lightweight at approximately 15 oz, Herbst Cradle™ was developed by a podiatrist as a cost‑effective clinical option for common heel and ankle pressure issues.
