Description

Overview
Vbeam Perfecta® is a pulsed-dye laser (PDL) system operating at 595 nm, indicated for treatment of a broad range of vascular and select pigmented and inflammatory dermatologic conditions. The platform integrates variable micropulse technology and a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD™) to combine treatment control with epidermal protection.

Key benefits
  • Selective targeting of oxyhemoglobin for vascular clearance with adjustable pulse composition (1–8 micropulses).
  • Ability to treat with or without purpura by modulating pulse parameters.
  • Cryogen-based DCD for pre- and post-pulse epidermal protection across Fitzpatrick skin types.
  • Multiple spot sizes enable treatment of small and larger lesions up to 12 mm for Perfecta.
  • Compact clinical footprint and preset Guided Mode to support workflow consistency.

Technology and mechanism
The system delivers 595 nm pulses preferentially absorbed by oxyhemoglobin. Variable micropulse composition distributes energy across microsecond-scale subpulses, permitting higher total energy with controlled dermal heating. The DCD delivers timed cryogen sprays before and/or after pulses to limit epidermal thermal exposure.

Performance and features
  • Wavelength: 595 nm (Vbeam Pro® optionally adds 1064 nm).
  • Variable pulse duration / composition: micropulse architecture (1–8 micropulses), pulse range typically spanning fractions of a millisecond to tens of milliseconds.
  • Spot sizes (Perfecta): 3 x 10 mm, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12 mm (Pro supports up to 15 mm and Zoom handpiece).
  • Guided Mode with clinical presets and ability to save custom settings for consistent protocols.
  • DCD cryogen cooling with adjustable spray/delay/post-spray timings.

Applications / indications
  • Benign cutaneous vascular lesions: telangiectasia, spider veins, angiomas, hemangiomas, port-wine stains.
  • Diffuse erythema and rosacea.
  • Leg veins and venous lakes.
  • Certain pigmented lesions: lentigines and select benign pigmentary lesions (technique-dependent).
  • Scars and striae targeting vascular components; inflammatory acne vulgaris; warts (selected cases); pediatric capillary malformations.

Treatment highlights and clinical outcomes
  • Many indications show clinical improvement after few sessions; parameter selection (pulse composition, fluence, spot size, DCD settings) guides likelihood of purpura and downtime.
  • Micropulse approach can reduce purpura while allowing effective vessel coagulation when clinically desired.
  • Documented clinical results across dermatology and pediatric indications when used per regional approvals.

Clinical workflow and ergonomics
  • Guided Mode presets and touchscreen interface streamline treatment setup and reproducibility.
  • Ergonomic handpiece designs and distance gauges support repeatable spot placement and operator comfort.
  • Compact system footprint suitable for dermatology clinics, cosmetic surgery centers and hospital settings.
