OverviewCombining years of product development with the latest digital PET innovations, the Cartesion Prime SP delivers exceptional image quality at high speed with accurate quantification and low dose. The system leverages SiPM photosensors and an optimized detector design (coverage and cooling) to impact image quality, scan times, and dose efficiencies for improved patient care.
Digital TOF PET-CT — SiPM PhotosensorsThe use of SiPM photosensors enables design choices that maximize image quality, reduce scan times, and improve dose efficiency. Canon designed the Cartesion Prime SP detector to leverage SiPM performance across the full PET detector design, including coverage and cooling strategies.
AI-based Deep Learning Reconstruction (AiCE-i for PET)AiCE-integrated (AiCE-i) is the second generation of AiCE for PET and provides three pre-trained deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) with varying smoothing levels to match user preferences. AiCE-i improves PET image denoising and image quality, enabling reduced scan durations while preserving or improving signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and quantification.
- Image Quality: Improved SNR compared to OSEM + Gaussian post filtering.
- Quantification Accuracy: Improvement in contrast at the same noise level.
- Count Dependency: Reduction in counts while preserving SNR.
- Preservation of Quantification: AiCE-i maintains overall quantification compared to OSEM reconstruction.
Patient-centric and Operator-centric DesignThe scanner is designed to improve patient comfort and operator workflow: a wide 78 cm gantry aperture with a flared gantry design, a wide patient couch, and low minimum scanner bed height to ease patient access. Operator-focused features—some optional—are incorporated to help reduce exposure dose to the operator and streamline throughput.
Mobile and Compact SolutionsCartesion Prime SP is available as a mobile Digital TOF PET-CT enabling high throughput and deployment where needed. The system is space-efficient and can be sited in smaller rooms: typical compact room footprint is 22.4 m². Air-cooled digital design and a small, lightweight footprint help installation and operational flexibility.
