In the fast-paced environment of the OR, providers need the ability to easily document what syringes are administered to the patient during a procedure. Searching for medications in the Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS)/Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a time-consuming and error-prone process. There’s a faster, better way. When used in conjunction with SLS Point of Care Station (PCS), the SLS-WAVE integrates with Medical System, an AIMS in the operating room. This comprehensive interoperability increases safety and provides accurate, electronic documentation at the time of administration to help close the loop. Benefits to Anesthesia An accessory to SLS PCS, SLS-WAVE is a robust, highly accurate scanner. A quick “wave” of an SLS prepared syringe or most prefilled syringes passes the Drug Code data electronically to the AIMS/ EHR workspace. Simultaneously, the AIMS/EHR visually displays the drug name and concentration, allergies to the medication and, just prior to administration to the patient, can electronically document the time the syringe was scanned. The dose screen is automatically presented to the clinician. This process immediately helps to improve workflow, documentation and safety.
