Description

Presentation
ICE (Innovative Chips Extractor) is an extractor designed to simplify hysteroscopic resections and to ensure a clear, chip‑free uterine cavity quickly. Developed with gynecology experts under the guidance of Professor Fernandez, ICE optimizes operative time, improves surgeon comfort and aims to provide a safer operative experience for the patient.

Clinical benefits
  • Fast, atraumatic extraction of resection chips.
  • Intuitive setup and simple operative gesture (extraction in a few manual compressions).
  • Collection of chips into a dedicated basket, facilitating recovery for histopathological analysis.
  • Possible reduction of operative time by up to one third, allowing shorter anaesthesia and better patient comfort.
  • Design intended to limit the risks of intrauterine adhesions and cervical lacerations compared with some alternative solutions.

Innovation and design
  • Patented device, inspired by the Ellick bulb principle adapted to gynecology.
  • Designed by and for surgeons, with an ergonomic design developed under the direction of Professor Fernandez.
  • Allows the outer sheath of the resectoscope to remain in place during resection and extraction for a smoother, continuous gesture.

Required for use
  • Delmont resectoscope — ICE is compatible only with Delmont ReseCare and MaxiCare resectoscopes.
  • Active suction — a vacuum of at least 30 kPa is required (independent pump or wall suction).
  • Irrigation pump — uterine pressure must be regulated by an irrigation pump capable of reaching and maintaining at least 100 mmHg.

Operative use
ICE interfaces with the inner sheath, which is inserted into the outer sheath of the resectoscope (the outer sheath remains in place). With a few manual compressions, chips, debris and blood clots are removed, visibility is restored and the procedure can be resumed immediately.

Features / technical specifications
  • Device type: chips extractor for hysteroscopic resections.
  • Compatibility: Delmont ReseCare and MaxiCare resectoscopes.
  • Required suction: at least 30 kPa (active suction).
  • Irrigation pump: recommended minimum uterine pressure 100 mmHg.
  • Collection: dedicated basket for recovery of chips for histopathological analysis.
  • Ergonomics: intuitive use, simple installation, extraction in a few manual compressions.
  • Patented: innovation protected by patent (concept adapted from the Ellick bulb).
  • Clinical objective: reduce operative time, limit the risk of adhesions and cervical lacerations, improve the fluidity of the surgical gesture.
