Characteristics

Function
image acquisition, DICOM viewing, image enhancement, post-processing, x-ray image acquisition, image sharing, data management
Applications
for PACS, medical imaging, for x-ray imaging, radiography, for DICOM, for veterinary imaging

Description

Overview
The X-Ray Image Acquisition Module provides direct integration into PACS to manage image acquisition workflows for radiography and veterinary applications. It centralizes device control, acquisition parameters and image transfer to enable consistent DICOM-compliant studies.

Key positioning
Flexible acquisition workflow for table, wall-stand and mobile exams. Configurable presets and procedure-driven workflows for department integration.

Devices
Generators, detectors and dose-area product meters from multiple manufacturers can be integrated (examples: Spellman, Thales, DRTECH, VacuTec). The module supports equipment discovery, calibration and parameter mapping for streamlined setup.

Detectors
Support for up to 3 detectors simultaneously (table, wall stand, mobile). Real-time detector status including temperature, signal quality and battery level. Automatic image correction and metadata population ensure traceability.

Exposure index
Exposure index compliant with IEC 62494-1. Mask display and adjustment for exposure index calculation are available. Index values are stored in the DICOM header. Target-Exposure-Index settings can be configured in the X-ray database.

Tables of organs
Preconfigured, extensible organ tables (including veterinary variants). Support for macros, aliases and Procedure Codes to enable automatic presettings and consistent exam nomenclature.

Custom / Linking the modules
Integration with PACS triggers immediate, configurable actions:
  • Viewing and evaluating images in the viewer
  • Exporting or emailing as DICOM or JPEG
  • Creating patient CD
  • Printing on a Windows or DICOM printer
  • Stitching

Additional module features (user-facing tools)
  • History: automatic history of recent acquisitions for reuse
  • Planning: dedicated panel for planning or post-planning X-ray tasks
  • Post-processing: mouse tools, zoom, transform, window/level, crop, virtual lead letters or text
  • Image enhancement: apply and modify image filters during study
  • Backups: backups of recent acquisitions to allow redo of post-processing if needed
