Description

A L4-L5 motion segment with a three-part disc: annulus fibrosus blue stained nucleus pulposus clear flexible endplates This model has been created from the request of our customers wanting more anatomical detail. Here our Classic LxH Dynamic Disc Model has been used as a foundation with the addition of hollowing out the vertebra to reveal the white flexible endplates. A small fissure has been created in the superior endplate to demonstrate how the blue stained nucleus can migrate upwards under compression load. Notice the posterior venous channels (Hans venous clefts) which play a hydraulic role. These are the channels that the basivertebral nerve follow. Helpful in the education of endplate sensitivity and the remodeling like that seen in Schmorls Nodes and Modic changes.
