Description

Product overview
Precision starts with control. FiAPC® plus probes deliver controlled and consistent tissue effect in argon plasma coagulation (APC) for gastrointestinal (GI) and pulmonary applications. The probes are engineered with an innovative tip design and thermally isolated electrode to enable homogeneous argon gas ignition and stable plasma performance across a range of clinical situations.

Key benefits
  • Controlled, reproducible tissue effect from focal lesions to broader areas.
  • Optimized beam producing a long, focused argon stream for homogeneous ignition.
  • Lower distal tip temperature via rounded ceramic tip, thermally isolated electrode and proprietary coating to reduce tissue sticking during continuous interventions.
  • Enhanced flexibility and atraumatic tip geometry for navigation in complex anatomies and retroflexion.
  • Improved suction performance and ~15% increased cross-sectional area when the tip is extended outside the channel, enabling faster gas expulsion and more efficient workflows.
  • Multiple tip architectures (axial, lateral/sidefire, circumferential) to address specific clinical needs.

APC modes (proprietary modes)
  • preciseAPC® — coagulation or ablation largely independent of probe-to-tissue distance; effective in low-energy settings and thermosensitive or thin-walled structures to minimize thermal injury.
  • forcedAPC® — rapid APC mode with ignition assistance for reliable plasma formation across variable resistances; suitable for superficial effects and deeper ablation with longer activation or higher settings.
  • pulsedAPC® (fast & slow) — pulsed delivery producing controlled, generally more superficial effects for hemostasis of diffuse bleeding, devitalization and tissue reduction in thermosensitive areas.

Probe portfolio and tip architectures
The FiAPC® plus family includes axial (focused long beam), lateral/sidefire (targeted lateral treatment) and circumferential (APC 360° Circumferential Probe™) tip designs, each intended for specific endoscopic tasks and access angles.

Clinical applications
Indicated for GI and pulmonary APC uses including coagulation, ablation, hemostasis of diffuse bleeding, devitalization, tissue reduction in thermosensitive or thin-walled areas, treatment of heterotopic gastric mucosa, radiation proctitis and management of residual Barrett’s mucosa.

Design features and workflow advantages
  • Ceramic atraumatic tip and thermally isolated electrode to reduce distal temperature and tissue adhesion.
  • Proprietary low-temperature coating for further tip temperature reduction and easier cleaning.
  • New marking scheme for closer probe positioning to the working channel and improved endoscopic view.
  • Circumferential tip architecture reduces direct electrode contact when activated in-contact, limiting unintentional deep thermal insult.
  • Optimized performance when used with APC 3 mode settings and the VIO® 3n Fire electrosurgical generator.

Clinical evidence & educational resources
Clinical demonstrations and testimonials document reproducible ignition and consistent tissue effects in ex‑vivo studies and clinical procedures across APC modes.
