The CSH set is indicated for the surgical treatment of rectal mucosal prolapse and haemorrhoid disease, commonly referred to as the “Procedure for Prolapse and Haemorrhoids (PPH). The PPH is a fast, less painful surgical option for patients with advanced cases of haemorrhoids. The procedure is more of a heamorrhoidopexy than a haemorrhoidectomy and involves the reducing of prolapsed haemorrhoidal tissue by excising a band of prolapsed anal mucosa. After resecting excess tissue by retracting prolapsed tissue into the circular stapler and stapling a circumferential ring of mucosal tissue, haemorrhoidal tissue is restored to its original anatomic position. PPH is a minimally invasive surgical approach and may help patients recover faster with less pain when compared to conventional techniques.
