Description

Overview
Fluke Biomedical 452R is a radiation survey meter designed for industrial measurement tasks such as x‑ray scanning, non‑destructive testing (NDT) and radiation monitoring. The instrument features drop-tested construction, an improved IP65 ingress protection rating and a durable design suitable for harsh environments.

Key features
  • Fast, accurate measurement — wide sensitivity from background to high radiation levels for rapid readings.
  • Easy operation — intuitive user interface with configurable display settings for varied lighting conditions.
  • Multi‑mode detection — single instrument for α, β and γ contamination detection and quantitative measurements.
  • Rugged design — drop-tested housing and IP65 protection for use in wet or harsh industrial environments.

Technology and performance
The 452R combines a silicon sensor cluster with a Geiger‑Müller pancake detector to provide broad energy response, high sensitivity and quick response time. Two interchangeable lids support measurements in air kerma, ambient dose equivalent and counts, enabling flexible use across measurement protocols.

Applications
The 452R is suited to industrial and security applications including NDT and component scanning in aerospace and automotive, x‑ray screening, airport and border security, first response, nuclear facilities, manufacturing, oil & gas and mining operations. It is used for quality control, cargo scanning and environmental radiation monitoring.
