OverviewCardiohelp II is a next‑generation extracorporeal life support (ECLS) system that builds on the Cardiohelp‑i platform. It is designed to improve usability, decision support and mobility for critical‑care teams while operating with the disposable HLS Set Advanced.
A new level of supportThe device integrates clinical workflows, advanced monitoring and transport capabilities to deliver reliable cardiopulmonary support in varied care environments.
Anytime, anywhereEngineered for patient transport by ground or air, Cardiohelp II provides continuous oxygenation, CO₂ removal and stable organ perfusion wherever critical care is required.
Cardiohelp II - Excellence. Advanced.- Compact device with significantly reduced weight compared to Cardiohelp‑i
- Optional attachable electronic gas blender (EGB)
- Operates with the disposable HLS Set Advanced
- 7" touchscreen with new graphical user interface, featuring guided workflows and alarms
- Advanced monitoring and real‑time trend insights to support clinical decision making
Therapy optionsSupports multiple treatment modes:
- v-a ECLS — Respiratory and cardiac assist for patients with combined heart and lung failure. Applicable in ICU, CathLab, ER and OR. Indications include respiratory failure with cardiac impairment, circulatory failure with respiratory impairment, cardiogenic shock, myocardial infarction, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and bridge to transplant.
- v-v ECMO — Respiratory support for severe lung failure. Applicable in ICU, ER and OR. Indications include ARDS (including COVID‑19) and bridge to lung transplant.
Disposable and blood flowHLS Set Advanced 5.0 (0.5–5.0 l/min)
HLS Set Advanced 7.0 (0.5–7.0 l/min)
MobilityDesigned for ICU use, emergency response and inter‑facility transport by ground or air. Compact, low‑weight design and compatibility with HLS Set Advanced facilitate bedside and transport workflows. Optional integrated EGB supports gas control during transport.
User centricityDesigned to support clinical teams and reduce user errors:
- 7" touchscreen with intuitive GUI
- Guided workflows including step‑by‑step priming and preparation
- Alarm guidance for critical situations
- Plug‑and‑play design with standardized disposable sets
- Simplified self‑service and maintenance
Gas managementOptional attachable electronic gas blender (EGB) can be operated from the device to centralize gas management and monitoring within transport and bedside workflows.
Decision support & SafetyAdvanced monitoring delivers real‑time data and safety functions:
- Trend analysis for all measured parameters
- Connectivity for up to six rSO₂ sensors to extend monitoring
- Optimized venous blood parameter monitoring
- Interoperability with Getinge digital solutions (Talis RemoteView with +ACG, Talis ECMO with +ACG)
- Air ingress monitoring and automated pump adaptation for backflow/bubble detection or pressure‑limit events
- Emergency functions including EGB O₂ emergency flow mode, Cardiohelp II emergency mode and an emergency drive
Clinical performanceThe HLS Set Advanced integrates an oxygenator and centrifugal pump to provide efficient gas exchange, low pressure drop, low priming volume and integrated non‑invasive sensors for pressure and temperature—designed for critical care and transport applications.
Related systems and connectivityWorks with HLS Set Advanced and interoperates with Getinge digital solutions (Talis RemoteView with +ACG, Talis ECMO with +ACG) for extended surveillance, data visualization and workflow optimization.
