Class 1: (18-21 mmHg) Prophylaxis of venous diseases, heaviness and fatigue in the legs, pain with or without varicosity, initial varices during pregnancy. Class 2: (23-32 mmHg) Moderate CVI, post-varicophlebitis, venous insufficiency due to varicosis, after small superficial ulcer, post-sclerotherapy, varicosis during pregnancy. Absolute Contraindications: High grade arterial insufficiency, wet dermatosis, acute dermatitis, cutaneous infections, wearing during bed rest or confinement to bed if not prescribed by physician (except antiembolism stockings). Metabolic edema, uncontrolled congestive heart failure, intermittent claudication, ischemia. Relative Contraindications: Sensory loss of the extremity, intolerance of compression stockings materials, advanced peripheral neuropathy ( e.g. diabetes mellitus), rheumatoid arthitis (RA).
