The high-precision luminance meter for distance measurement with 1° measuring angle is classified in class B DIN 5032-7, DIN EN 13032-1 appendix B and ISO/CIE 19476. It measures the brightness effect of an illuminated or luminous surface in candela per square meter (cd/m²) or foot-lambert (fL), taking the ambient light into account.
The luminance meter for distance measurement is used for a wide range of applications such as contrast measurement at the workplace, measurement of signaling systems, displays, projection screens, light boxes and outdoor advertising. Especially in medical technology, it is used for acceptance and consistency testing to ensure the image quality of image display systems in accordance with DIN 6868-157. These can be found in computer tomographs, digital X-ray machines, sonography systems, magnetic resonance tomographs and X-ray film viewers. The measuring device is integrated into various quality assurance software such as PerfectLum, RadiCS or DisplayQ support an automatic process and documentation.
