Description

The term TECAR is an acronym for Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer. The use of TECAR technology is of major importance in rehabilitation therapies since it reduces pain, stimulates venous drainage in the lymphatic system, and significantly reduces both muscular and back pain. In general, TECAR is used to treat disorders such as sprains, tendonitis, bursitis, osteoarticular distractions, chronic arthralgias, contractures, strains, muscular tears, myositis, pathologies of joint capsules, arthritic processes, lumbago, and sciatica. Capacitive The electromagnetic field is strongest directly under the electrodes with capacitive electrodes, the therapeutic target is soft tissue - usually tissue with the highest water content and high electrical conductance such as the dermis, the lymphatic system, the venous system, and muscles. Resistive The electromagnetic field is strongest where the current transfer meets the highest resistance with resistive electrodes, the therapeutic target is tissue with the highest electrical resistance, such as deep muscles, joints tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bones. TECAR's main use in physiotherapy relates to the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and pain disorders and sports rehabilitation. Some commonly treated conditions are: Musculoskeletal injuries : * Joint pain * Muscle spasm * Acute or Chronic injuries * Tears * Strains * Sprains * Synovitis * Bursitis * Tendinopathy * Post operatively * Repetitive strains
