OverviewThe urinalysis reagent strips are firm plastic strips with multiple discrete reagent pads for qualitative and semi-quantitative screening of urine. They detect one or more of the following analytes: ascorbic acid, glucose, bilirubin, ketone (acetoacetic acid), specific gravity, blood, pH, protein, urobilinogen, nitrite and leukocytes. Intended for clinical laboratories, point-of-care screening and routine urine monitoring.
Directions for Use- Allow strips, urine specimens and controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15–30°C) before testing.
- Remove a strip from the sealed container and use immediately; close the container tightly after removing required strips.
- Immerse reagent pads completely in well-mixed fresh urine and remove promptly to avoid reagent dissolution.
- Remove excess urine by running the strip edge along the container rim and, holding horizontally, touch the edge to an absorbent material to prevent cross-contamination of pads.
- Compare reagent pads to the canister color chart at the specified read times; hold close and match carefully. Results can be read up to 2 minutes after the specified read times.
Usage Notes- For qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of listed analytes in urine; not intended as a sole diagnostic criterion.
- Interpret results according to the read times and color chart supplied with the canister.
- Interfering substances (e.g., high vitamin C) may affect some analyte results; follow laboratory procedures for confirmation when required.
