Overview
Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) is produced during fetal and neonatal development by the liver, yolk sac and, in small amounts, the gastrointestinal tract. After infancy AFP concentrations decline rapidly and only trace amounts are normally present in serum. The AFP Rapid Test Kit provides a qualitative screening tool for detection of AFP in whole blood, serum or plasma.
