The flexible MFT assembly concept consists of several modules that are connected by a transport system. The offers freedom in the use of space and the degree of automation. The MFT assembly machine can even produce product variations. As a transport system, the machine uses intelligent linear motors or chain transport with workpiece carriers.
Benefits
Highly flexible with regard to product, set-up and performance class
Universal use allows economic production start and future upgrades
Process reliability despite customization using standard basic modules in combination with product-specific processes
Ability to integrate manual work stations
Ability to run different cycle rate between the modules
Technical data
Performance: up to 60 cycles/min
Stations: variable
Mounting point: 1 to 16 tracks
Clean room design: clean room class 100,000 – 10,000
Drives for the process stations (depending on the assembly task): Cam-controlled, electro-pneumatic or servo-motor driven
Parts handling
Components are automatically taken out using vacs, grippers or tongs and accurately transferred. This can be performed in a linear or swivel movement. To increase the output, these systems can be set up at multiple locations so as to perform loading and unloading tasks at the same time.
Automation
Automated logistics concepts control how product components are fed via feeding unit and regulate the transport systems within the machine. Robot and automation technology is intended to insert components into production machines and to handle them during assembly.
Joining and final assembly
Joining technology is one of the basic processes for completing assembly groups.
