Product description
LOCTITE® SF 772 is a primer formulated to improve bonding of cyanoacrylate instant adhesives to low-surface-energy plastics such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). It activates rapidly and dries in under 10 seconds, enabling high-throughput assembly while providing durable bond performance. The clear, colourless formulation has a light, neutral odour and is formulated without known CMRs, PFAS or heptane. UV fluorescence allows visual verification of primer coverage. ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing for medical use is in progress.

How to use (summary)

• Clean substrates thoroughly to remove contaminants, oils and greases; allow to dry
• Apply primer to the low-surface-energy plastic. If both substrates are low-energy plastics, prime both
• For optimum performance apply two thin coats; avoid priming substrates that are normally bondable with LOCTITE® instant adhesives (e.g. steel, PVC, polycarbonate)
• Allow solvent to evaporate fully (activation & drying < 10 s) before bonding
• Bond immediately after priming for best results; good performance can be achieved up to ~2 hours after application
• Use a 365 nm UV lamp to inspect primer coverage and avoid excess application
