VH1000 Vessel Ultrasound Training Model is a full ultrasound training system that provides blood flow simulation in a phantom that hosts complex blood vessel structures with a bifurcating branch and curvature. This allows the trainees to recognize a bifurcation and to locate the correct position of needle insertion even in a real human body. Human tissue with vessels that carry blood mimicking fluid is simulated for 2D B-mode and/or Doppler ultrasound training. The fluid has the same consistency and color as blood, making it very realistic for clinical training of guiding a syringe needle with ultrasound followed by pulling back the plunger to visualize blood in the syringe to confirm correct needle placement. This cost-effective flow phantom is the first of its kind on the market, and comes with two pumps, blood reservoir, phantom, tubes, and is packed in a rugged, sealed transport case for setting up the system at different sites. The gel is skin colored (Caucasian and others can be ordered). It is a lightweight and economical training aid that will allow clinicians to perform sonographic procedures and to acquire images of blood vessels, providing hands-on training at a reasonable cost. By repetitively training on these phantoms, the clinicians are able to develop psychomotor skills of guiding the needles to the simulated vessels with ultrasound.
