Product overviewThe Nylon monofilament suture is a non-absorbable sterile surgical suture made of polyamide (nylon 6). It is supplied dyed (black or blue) or undyed, in various sizes and lengths, and can be supplied with or without needles. The suture conforms to USP and EP requirements. Sterile versions are available, sterilized by gamma radiation.
Key benefits- Non-absorbable and high tensile strength: maintains integrity throughout healing and provides prolonged wound support.
- Reduced risk of infection: smooth surface minimizes microbial adherence.
- Versatile applications: suitable for skin closure, soft tissue approximation, vessel ligation and used across specialties such as general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology and dermatology.
- Easy handling: pliable with minimal memory, resists kinking and tangling, excellent knot security.
Technical data summaryNYLON is extruded into a single monofilament strand providing a smooth atraumatic surface, uniform diameter and high tensile strength. Available in a wide range of needle configurations to meet surgical requirements.
