The CerebroFlo® EVD Codman's Catheter, approved in 2017, is the first and only external ventricular drainage catheter with Endexo® Technology, a permanent additive that functionalizes all surfaces, including cut perforations, that greatly reduces fibrinogen and platelet activation and adhesion, resulting in less thrombus formation.
Overview
Large Gauge Catheter
The Codman CerebroFlo EVD Catheter is a large gauge catheter well suited for treating conditions commonly necessitating external ventricular drainage such as elevated intracranial pressure, intraventricular hemorrhage, or hydrocephalic shunt infections.
The CerebroFlo EVD Catheter Contains Endexo
The CerebroFlo EVD Catheter has demonstrated an average of 99% less thrombus
accumulation onto its surface, in vitro, compared to a market leading EVD catheter.1
Endexo is a permanent and non-eluting additive extruded into the catheter material, contains no heparin, and remains throughout the life of the catheter without depleting.
Features
Suture Clip
Codman's patented top-loading suture clip is designed to allow separate sutures for retaining the catheter in the clip versus securing the clip to the scalp.
Depth Marking
Full-circumference single centimeter markings, along with numerically indicated 10 and 15 centimeters double marking, provide the surgeon superior visual assistance to enhance proper catheter placement.
Radiopaque Catheter Material
To support real-time visualization, Codman CerebroFlo EVD Catheter is radiopaque for fluoroscopic placement and verification.
Clinical
