OverviewThe Tumor microwave ablation instrument B is a medical device for minimally invasive thermal ablation of solid tumors using microwave energy. It supports percutaneous antenna placement and pedal-initiated ablation workflows suited for clinical settings.
Indications- Melanoma
- Mast cell tumor
- Osteosarcoma
- Adenoma
- Squamous epithelial cell tumor
- Fibroblastoma
- Thyroid tumor
- Perianal adenoma
- Nerve sheath tumor
- Breast tumor
- Injection-type fibrosarcoma
- Sweat gland tumor
- Liver tumor
- Lung tumor
- Uterine fibroids
- Prostate tumor
- etc.
Advantages- Minimally invasive therapy suitable for percutaneous or intraoperative use
- Short procedure time with controlled ablation delivery
- Limited side effects when used according to protocol
- Targeting capability via antenna placement
- Small procedure-related trauma and reduced bleeding compared with open surgery
- For larger-volume tumors: staged ablation can be combined with surgical resection
- Reduced post-procedure pain and low recurrence when properly indicated
- Operation workflow: set power, start cooling pump, position antenna to tumor center and use foot pedal to start microwave ablation
Tumor ablation principleThe device generates high-frequency electromagnetic waves that act on tumor tissue. An ablation antenna delivers microwave energy to the target area, inducing rapid rotation of polar molecules (primarily water) and converting electromagnetic energy into heat. Local tissue temperatures can reach approximately 60°C or higher, causing dehydration, coagulation and protein denaturation that lead to irreversible necrosis of the target tissue for ablation.
