The Kerr Smoothy is a 15 cm micro-tool that produces a flameless jet of heated air, ideal for the final stages of wax-pattern sculpturing in dental and laboratory applications. Held like a pencil, the heated-air jet smooths surfaces and removes fine scratches without direct flame contact. The Smoothy can also operate as a mini-torch, producing a pencil-point flame with temperatures up to 2300°F (1260°C) for soldering precious metals, adding contacts and performing minor casting repairs. It runs on standard butane and is UL registered.
