The C680M Elmendorf Tearing Tester is a computer-controlled laboratory instrument for measuring tear resistance of films, sheets, paper, board, textiles and non-wovens. It uses a pendulum to supply tearing energy and calculates consumed energy to determine tear force.

Test Principle- Raise the pendulum to a defined height to store potential energy. The freely swinging pendulum uses that energy to tear the sample; the control system calculates the energy consumed to derive tearing force.
