The system is designed around studies and flexible data hierarchies for easy organization. Slides can be moved between studies or relocated within the hierarchy. Custom study and slide metadata fields support task tracking and metadata organization. Advanced workflows support launching quantitative image analysis, sorting/filtering/visualizing segmented TMA cores, and deploying HALO AI classifiers.

Search, Tasks and Automation
Powerful search functionality allows compound-criteria queries of metadata, navigation to results, saving searches for reuse, and adding results to slide trays. A customizable tasks system enables creation of task fields, status updates within the viewer, and filtering slides by task status. Automation features keep users up-to-date with newly scanned slides and enable automatic addition of images and data as they are acquired.

Visualization, Admin and Compliance
HALO Link provides diverse plotting tools (heatmaps, scatter, violin, box-and-whisker) for study-level visualization and quality control. A full Admin dashboard allows administrators to manage configurations, users, system-wide metadata fields, login attempts, and active jobs/requests. The Compliance Add-On adds exportable audit trails, reason-for-change capture, and viewing-only modes to support regulatory requirements.
