They are useful especially in probing distal surfaces, occlusal surface grooves and detecting subgingival calculus. They have an elongated shank and with a centered tip (17C) and lower shank. For furcation’s, restorations, exploring and caries of pockets and diagnosing calculus. Explorers are commonly used for oral examination. They explore areas between the teeth that are hard to reach to remove foreign objects or detecting a subgingival calculus. They are also used for: - Areas in the vicinity of contact surfaces - distal surfaces - Probing clogged surface grooves - Back Action blade and for extended lower shank - Probing under the tooth surfaces - Detecting and probing subgingival calculus Explorers by InstruDents X are ergonomically designed with comfortable handles of max 12mm thickness that cause less strain on hand and are easy to grip.
