OverviewThe Manusa automatic panic break-out sliding door combines standard automatic sliding operation with an emergency break-out (fold-back) mechanism. In normal use it functions as an automatic sliding door; in emergency situations the leaves fold/back outwards to maximise the available evacuation width while ensuring compliance with emergency egress regulations.
Main features- Normal automatic sliding operation with manual push-to-open panic break-out in emergencies.
- Leaves fold back laterally to free an extended clear-width evacuation opening.
- Available for high-traffic public buildings such as airports, stations, shopping centres and hospitals.
- Leaf options: framed leaves for high mechanical resistance or fully glazed leaves without vertical profiles for maximum transparency and aesthetics.
- Configurations: central and side break-out variants; with or without fixed leaves; 2- and 4-leaf options.
How it works- Under normal operation the system acts as a powered automatic sliding door.
- When an outward push is applied in an emergency, each active leaf folds/ collapses outwards (break-out), increasing the evacuation width.
- Designs can include fixed leaves or be entirely active; mechanical and profile options adapt to traffic and architectural needs.
Application contexts / Recommended uses- Airports, rail/bus stations and transport hubs requiring rapid evacuation capacity.
- Large commercial centres, retail entrances and public buildings with high pedestrian flow.
- Healthcare facilities, hotels, offices and residential blocks where evacuation width and accessibility are priorities.
Customization & variants- Opening types: central panic break-out, side panic break-out (left/right), single-slide or telescopic options.
- Leaf types: framed profiles (higher resistance) or transparent full-glass leaves (no vertical profiles).
- Profile dimensions: typical options include 40 mm top/bottom profiles and 44 mm fully framed profiles.
- Compatible operators: Visio+ series (Visio+ 125, Visio+ 175, Visio+ HD) and other Manusa motorisation options.
- Accessories: automatic locks, lateral safety sensors (DDS), external key-switch, floor locks, Optima Prox+ touchless switches, hybrid movement/presence sensors (DDS-A, DDS-B), Optima Pocket remote and wireless program selector (Optima+), occupancy-control systems.
Notes- Designed to comply with evacuation and emergency-exit regulations for automatic sliding doors when used as emergency egress routes.
- Multiple configurations available to meet required clear widths, traffic intensity and architectural constraints.
