By noting the status of the ON and Alarm LEDs, patients will know whether the alarm has been triggered and can easily ascertain whether their medications stayed temperature compliant. This way, the end user can determine whether it is SAFE to use the delivered prescriptions. If the Alarm LED is “flashing red,” the product has exceeded either high or low temperature specifications and the product should not be used. The pharmacy/shipper should be immediately contacted and informed that the drugs were not temperature compliant during delivery. Setting the high and low temperature limits, recording intervals, and downloading data is easy with Marathon’s MaxiThermal2, software. Just plug the reader station into the USB port of a computer to read and program.
