What is the M-640 Bariatric Scale?
The Marsden M-640 is a high capacity medical weighing scale designed for convenient weighing of bariatric patients, particularly those who cannot stand, or need support when standing. It has an extra large base that can accommodate most wheelchairs, a hinged seat and sturdy handrails. It is a Class III Approved scale, and has optional wireless connectivity for recording patient weight data.
What is a Class III Approved scale?
Class III Approved scales are built, tested, verified and calibrated in order to meet a specific standard. The NAWI directive states that all scales ‘used in the determination of mass in the practice of medicine for the purpose of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment’ must be Class III Approved. Approved scales are subject to rigorous testing by an EU notified body, which provides the user with assurance of accuracy and reliability.
How can patient weight data be recorded?
The Marsden M-640 Bariatric Scale features our premium indicator, which means it is easy to use, and there are also a range of accessories available for recording patient weight.
For a printed record of patient weight data, choose the optional TP-2100 printer. This printer provides a hard copy of patient weight, plus BMI and height if that has been entered/calculated using the indicator. Each print out is date and time stamped.
