The innovative combination of printing process and material combination enables a product result that is almost as good as real bone in terms of haptics and structural properties and is therefore ideal for e.g. surgical preparations.
After the printing process, the bone is cleaned in a water caustic bath to remove the support structures required for printing without leaving any residue.
The material composition, which was specially developed and successfully tested for bone production, consists of seven photopolymer-based material/color components.
During the printing process, small droplets of these photopolymers are applied in layers to a build platform and cured under UV light after each layer. In this way, very low layer thicknesses are achieved, resulting in very high detail and fine surfaces.
Among other things, our 3D printing service can help you with the following issues:
Preoperative simulation of the procedure for practice purposes or to detect possible complications at an early stage
Visualization of a pathology for better understanding
Test insertion of different implants & sizes to save time & money intraoperatively
Use as an intraoperative template for correct placement of implants or resections
