Made from soft, medical-grade PVC, the tube reduces mucosal irritation and supports gentle insertion. It features a smooth, hydrophilic-like surface for non-traumatic passage, clear centimeter graduations for accurate placement, a coned distal tip with dual lateral eyes to promote flow, and an integrated radio-opaque line for X-ray verification. The proximal female luer mount ensures secure connection to syringes or feeding funnels.

Instruction for Use (IFU)

• Wash hands before procedure.
• Position the infant appropriately: swaddled on back with head elevated for neonates; older children may be held in a comfortable position.
• Lubricate the tube with water or apply a small amount of water-based lubricant if instructed. Some tubes have a water-activated coating to ease insertion.
• Insert gently through the nostril until the desired graduation aligns with the tip of the nose; older children may swallow to assist placement.
• Remove the tube immediately if any of the following occur:
  
  • Coughing
  • Gagging
  • Sneezing
  • Vomiting
  • Wheezing
  • Change in skin colour
  • Respiratory difficulty
  • Change in respiratory rate
  • Change in oxygen requirements
  • Decrease in pulse oximeter readings
  • Increased restlessness
  • Unexplained irritability, discomfort, or abdominal pain
  • Tube visible exiting the mouth
• Comfort the child and attempt reinsertion only if clinically indicated.
• Secure the tube with tape as instructed by clinical staff.
• Confirm placement after insertion according to local protocols (aspiration, pH testing, or X-ray as required).
